Instructor Profile: Meret Piderman was born in New York to Swiss artist parents. She received a BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, with a specialty in Fashion Design. As a child, had access to her mother’s sewing room and made daily visits to her father’s art studio to see what he was working on. While living in Italy for five years with her own family, she taught Fine Art, Ceramics and Sewing at the International School of Venice, Padova and Treviso.

In 2017 she discovered SFSNAD. She has participated in many stitch at home challenges and taken workshops. Her work as been exhibited in NYC, San Francisco and Petaluma. She is grateful for the support and encouragement she has received from the instructors at SFNAD and very happy to be teaching the Little Faces workshop.

Class Description: Students will be taught how to embroider small faces to be used as a brooch or patch. A choice of four designs will be offered. You will learn how to transfer your design onto adhesive paper. Chainstitch and backstitch are the two main stitches that will be taught. We will also discuss the color wheel and how best to choose your floss. Beads can also be used as a trim.

Kit Contents: 6×6 felt squares, floss needle, beads, DMC magic paper, and pin backs.

Supplies: All materials will be handed out to you at the start of class. We will provide embroidery scissors and hoops.

Registration for this class closes 1 day prior to the start date. If you would like to inquire about the possibility of late registration, please contact info@sfsnad.org. Late registration will be accommodated when possible with an additional expedited shipping fee.

Cancellation policy: SNAD will refund tuition less a $25 processing fee up to 3 days (72 hours) prior to class start time. No refunds for cancellations with less than 3 days notification before class start time.
