Class Description: Erica Wilson’s work inspired many people to get involved in embroidery, with easy instructions and contemporary patterns, the craft of embroidery experienced a revitalization in the US and abroad with new kits, and easy to find supplies. Erica Wilson made embroidery both fun and easy for anyone who had a mind to sit down and stitch. SFSNAD is continuing on this mission of carrying embroidery into the future by providing quality instruction with accessibility for anyone who wishes to take up the needle.
SNAD has been the recipient of several works designed by Erica Wilson and stitched by her sample making staff from her estate, with these lovely stitched pieces of embroidery art in mind, we have created our own patterns with a nod to Erica’s influence and legacy in the contemporary world of embroidery today.
In this kit, you will find several patterns to choose from, along with motifs that can easily be used to compose your very own Erica inspired design. A choice from one of two colorways is possible. Along with these, seven versatile stitches have been selected that will best create interest for the included designs. Kit includes fabric, Appleton wool, and a needle.
Equipment Needed: All materials will be mailed to you prior to the beginning of class. You will need to supply your own scissors.
