This class will be taught virtually. We will email you the log in information prior to the start of the class.
Class length: 3 hours
Skill level: Great for beginners or anyone wishing to brush up on their embroidery skills
Class Description: Learn the basics of goldwork (sometimes known as metalwork) in just three hours! In this technique, metal threads are most frequently laid or couched down with a second finer thread, resulting in sculptural, elegant forms. In this class, you’ll learn about padding, couching, and chipwork, and leave with a sense of the basics, as well as your own goldwork piece!
Supplies: All materials will be mailed to you prior to the start of class. You will need to supply a pair of scissors.
Try out different embroidery techniques in our Technique Taster Series! Each three hour class covers a different technique: crewelwork, needlepainting, goldwork, stumpwork, blackwork, whitework, needlepoint, and appliqué. You will have a choice of two different designs within each technique. This class is a great follow up to our Bite-size Embroidery for Beginners.
Class Minimum: 3 students
