Class length: 3 hours CLASS WILL BE TAUGHT VIRTUALLY VIA ZOOM
Log in information will be emailed to you prior to the start of
class.
Skill level: Great for beginners or anyone wishing to brush
up on their embroidery skills
Class Description: Learn the basics of crewelwork in just
three hours! Crewelwork is a great introductory technique to hand
embroidery as it includes stitches common to other techniques, and
has a flexibility that allows for individual artistry and
imagination.
You’ll stitch with English crewel wool on a
cotton twill. Stitches include trellis with a decorative pattern,
stem stitch and bullion knots.
Supplies: All materials will
be mailed to you prior to the start of class; you will need to
supply your own scissors
Try out different embroidery techniques in our Technique Taster
Series! Each three hour class covers a different technique: crewelwork, needlepainting, goldwork, stumpwork, blackwork, whitework, needlepoint, and appliqué. You will have a choice
of two different designs within each technique. This class is a
great follow up to our Bite-size
Embroidery for Beginners.
Bookings are closed for this event.
SNAD is a nonprofit organization committed to preserving and promoting the
traditions of hand embroidery. If you are able, you can make a donation which will
allow us to continue to develop fun and innovative community outreach programs.
