Learn to create this three-dimensional, fun, floral design with Lucy Barter, SFSNAD Creative Director.

This class will be taught in-person at 850 Battery Street, San Francisco.

Class length: 12 hours*

*One ticket covers the cost of both sessions

Session 1: Thursday, October 13 from 10 am – 4 pm PT

Session 2: Friday, October 14 from 10 am – 4 pm PT

Skill Level: Beginner

Class Description: Learn to create this three-dimensional, fun, floral design with Lucy Barter, SFSNAD Creative Director. During this two day course, Lucy will share a bit of history about stumpwork and raised techniques, then guide you through long and short stitching, woven picot, Brussels stitch, and padded satin stitch among others. Add gold chipwork to finish this adorable design.

Supplies: Class kit will be sold separately.

We’re partnering with Maydel as a source for all of your material needs. Once you are registered, you will receive further instructions on purchasing your kit for this class.

You will need to supply your own embroidery scissors.

Class Minimum: 3 students

About the Educator: Prior to co-founding SFSNAD, Lucy Barter, was the sole proprietor of her needlework business, Forever Embroidery Studio. Lucy served as the resident embroidery teacher at Filoli, created a Goldwork Embroidery Craftsy class, and served as the US Course Coordinator and instructor for the Royal School of Needlework.

In 2006, Lucy graduated from the Royal School of Needlework Apprenticeship Programme, and holds a BA Honors Degree in Fashion Design from the University of Northumbria. Lucy brings many valuable years of teaching, design and technical expertise to the needlework field. She is passionate about sharing traditional embroidery techniques.

Registration for this class closes 1 day prior to the start date. If you would like to inquire about the possibility of late registration, please contact Late registration will be accommodated when possible.

Cancellation policy: SNAD will refund tuition less a $25 processing fee up to 3 days (72 hours) prior to class start time. No refunds for cancellations with less than 3 days notification before class start time.

SFSNAD requires visitors, students, and guests to wear a mask while onsite to help protect against the spread of COVID-19.
